If you’ve been around a while, you know that I’m a fan of Paul Evans dress shoes. They also make luxury leather mid-top sneakers and I finally pulled the trigger on a pair. There isn’t too much out there in terms of reviews, so I hope this helps if you’re looking to pick up a pair.
First off, they’re beautiful to look at and they scream high-end. The design is well very done and just like their dress shoes, they’re hand made in Italy using high quality, full grain calfskin leather inside and out. Their sneaker line runs true-to-size, so if you’re a size 10, order a size 10. Their dress shoes use a European sizing chart where you’re essentially ordering one size smaller than you actually are in US sizing.
One small issue I need to have addressed is some of the stitching wasn’t secure right out of the box. I’m sure this is an isolated case, but as you can see in the video, I’ve worn them for a few days to break them in and I’m very happy with them. I’ll be taking them in to a local shoe repair shop tomorrow to see if they can re-stitch it, so I’ll keep you guys posted on that. I’m sure I could’ve sent them back to Paul Evans and I’m confident they would’ve taken care of it, but I don’t want to wait for all the back and forth shipping so I’ll have it fixed locally.
If you’re in the market for a pair of luxury sneakers that you won’t see on many other guys, I can absolutely recommend these.
