About a month ago I told you guys about the company Mavericks who sent me some of their products to try out. I already wrote about the shave lotion and told you how great it was, and I also told you I’m not getting paid a single cent for my review. If their stuff sucks, I’ll tell you. In this case, their stuff doesn’t suck whatsoever. In fact, it’s pretty great.
I’ve been using their Face Kit for about a month now. The kit includes a daily morning moisturizer, a face wash and a nightly moisturizer. Let me explain how I use everything. My daily routine goes like this; I use the shave lotion and the face wash in the shower. Once I get out and dry off, I’ll use the Protect (daily moisturizer) on my face and around my eyes to fight those crows’ feet. At night, I’ll either use the face wash again, or just warm water and then the nightly Rebuild moisturizer. My nightly routine is somewhat inconsistent because my schedule is also somewhat inconsistent. I’m really good about using the morning products, but if I’m being honest, I use the nightly Rebuild about every other night.
Still, doing ‘something’ good for your skin is better than doing nothing at all. That’s what’s so important; you should be doing SOMETHING to take care of the skin you have. Men’s products are so incredibly good right now. Yes, you can still find cheap drugstore brands that are essentially repackaged and re-scented women’s products where the packaging looks more masculine, but if you really want the good stuff, look into companies like Mavericks.
They’re a new company who’s doing it right. Their products work as advertised because the singular goal is taking care of your face with quality ingredients.
It’s not all roses. If I have one minor gripe, it’s with the cap for the wash. I use it in the shower and the sink and my hands are wet when I’m using it. The tube itself is a great size and grippy when wet, but I’d like to see a flip-top cap like the Protect and Rebuild moisturizers have. My shower has limited storage and I need to put the cap back on immediately after squeezing out the wash in one hand. It’s not the end of the world, but it would make it easier for me to use.
In the end, I’m completely happy with Mavericks. I’m 48 but I look 38 because I use a few simple products like this as part of my daily routine. I don’t obsess over it; it’s just a part of my day that seriously takes minimal effort and time. Just do something! I promise, you’ll be glad you did.

Great product review. I was wondering if you had any other recommendations for a face kit or daily lotion that doesn’t run $89.99 a month?
Thanks and keep up the great blog!
