What’s going on guys? Today I’m giving you 5 different ways you can wear a black leather jacket. Some say that men over 40 shouldn’t wear leather jackets, but I tend to disagree. However, with that said, I do welcome differences of opinion and I won’t completely shut down just because your opinion might be different than mine and we can absolutely have that conversation. I would like to know down in the comments what your opinion about leather jackets are and whether you’re for or against.
White sneakers.
Alright, today I’m going to be showing a few different ways to style a black leather jacket for the simple reason that I don’t own a brown one, but I’m sure most of what I’ll be showing would work universally between the two. First up is a casual look that I’ve paired up with sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt. It doesn’t get much simpler than this. I would suggest keeping your denim slim and not too baggy or long, and making sure that your sneakers are simple and without bling. For example, I wouldn’t wear running shoes or trainers here.
Black t-shirt.
Next I kept the t-shirt, jeans and sneakers, but changed the t-shirt and shoes for black. It’s the exact same casual look, but I think it’s just slightly more serious when more tones of black are incorporated.
Dark wash denim.
Next, swap out the lighter wash denim for a more refined and dressed up pair of dark denim, a patterned dress shirt and a pair of olive suede boots. This look is perfect for a casual night out for a few drinks with the boys or a nice casual dinner with that someone special. And gentlemen, before I get into the last two, if you like this type of men’s lifestyle content for grownups, please consider subscribing and turning on the bell notifications because the entire premise of this channel is to prove that it’s never too late and you’re never too old to start something new.
Olive chinos and a sweater.
Okay next I swapped out the denim for this pair of chinos in forest green. I decided to go with a medium brown chukka boot (and by the way, yes, you can wear black and brown together). I also went with a white shirt underneath this black cashmere sweater to add some class and a layer of insulation for those chilly February evenings out.
Dress trousers and a tie.
Lastly, I had to do a dressed up look, so I went with some dress trousers, a white dress shirt and tie and some black boots. You can just as easily swap out the boots for a pair of black oxfords, but I wanted to give the boots a try because actually, I haven’t worn these in quite a while and when I saw them in my closet I decided to wear them in this video. I think they’re refined enough to wear with a shirt and tie, but also rugged enough to pair nicely with the leather jacket.
Guys, like I mentioned, let me know down in the comments what your thoughts are on wearing a leather jacket over 40, I’d love to hear from you. Today’s video and article is brought to you by Tiege Hanley. Whether you believe me or not, I get comments all the time in person that I look a lot younger than my actual age (50). Good family genetics probably helps, but I also do what I can to take care of my skin. I’ve been a steady user of Tiege Hanley skin care products for the last three years. I’ve spent my own money and continue to do so every single month. If you’re not familiar with Tiege Hanley, this is a skin care system for men that was started with the goal of producing uncomplicated skin care products for men using quality and natural ingredients that rivals some of the biggest names in the skin care industry. It’s a monthly subscription service, and they have three different levels you can choose from so every single month, they’ll send it straight to you.
The level 1 system includes a daily face wash, a twice weekly exfoliating scrub, a morning moisturizer with SPF 20, and a night time moisturizer. The level 2 system includes all of those items plus an additional eye cream that helps fight fine lines and wrinkles underneath and around your eyes. The level 3 system includes all of those items plus a morning and night time super serum, which is a highly concentrated formula packed with antioxidants, vitamins and anti-aging ingredients. All of their products are fragrance free for sensitive skin types, so if you’re concerned about fragrance additives being sensitizing and causing allergic reactions or rashes, it’s one less thing to worry about. Their tagline is “uncomplicated skin care for men” and that’s absolutely true. You get the products you need and nothing you don’t. Guys, I’m going to leave a link right here and I highly encourage you to go check them out.

Looking great.
I assume the styles can go with any short jacket. I especially like the olive chinos and brown chukka boots.
Now I have to find some olive chinos 😉
