It’s finally fall and the weather is starting to cool off across the country, as well as here in Southern California. That means it’s officially boot season. And more specifically, in my opinion, Suede boot season. I’m not sure what the weather is like where you live, but here in Southern California, it’s starting to cool off. For example, the last week has been cold and today it was 45 degrees this morning and it’ll only be 74 this afternoon. It’s a major crisis. Yes, I know, we’re all pretty spoiled here in Southern California because it’s always sunny, but even if the weather isn’t as dry where you live, that doesn’t mean you still can’t wear suede boots.
Today I want to show you some waterproof suede and also a few different ways you can incorporate suede into your daily wardrobe. All the boots I’ll be showing in this video today come from Thursday Boots. I’ve talked about Thursday Boots before, but let me show you something really cool (watch the video above). Don’t try this with ordinary suede.
Guys, Thursday Boots incorporates WeatherSafe Suede. They start with natural suede from Tier1 USA Cattle and the WeatherSafe collection features a solution of waterproof compounds introduced to the leather at the start of the production process. This more methodical approach allows their proprietary blend of compounds to penetrate deep into the leather. Now, while the waterproof effects do last a long time, it’s still natural suede and the top layers of the solution will break down over time and exposure to the elements, so annual upkeep of your suede is still suggested.
The whole point here guys is you don’t have to worry about babying your suede boots if you buy the right boots. Wear them! Personally I think suede looks better after it’s been worn in for a while.
Let me talk about buying suede boots for a minute. If you don’t currently own any and want some, take a look at what other boots you might already have or what other boots you’re drawn to. For example, if you already have leather Chelsea boots and you wear them a lot, get some suede Chelsea boots. If you currently have more rugged boot styles, get something similar in suede. This way, by staying with styles you know you already like, you’re more inclined to actually wear them. If you go too far outside your comfort zone like Jodhpur boots, you might not wear them. But, just for the record, Jodhpur boots are getting super popular and I’m seeing them everywhere. Personally, I think the black ones are very cool, but they also come in a few other shades of brown as well. The dark olive is really nice too.
Guys, I’m gonna leave a link right here to Thursday Boots where you can check out their suede collection as well as all the other super cool boots they make. Oh, and one more thing, if you like men’s lifestyle videos and you liked this video, please subscribe on YouTube and hit the like button because it really does make a difference.
