Welcome fellas, and ladies. Smiles are contagious. When you smile, people around you smile too. But, there’s a lot more to it than that. Stick around and I’ll tell you why it’s important, especially for me right now.
So, right off the top, this post is in partnership with Ollie Teeth Whitening because since I was making a video about why smiling is important, I wanted to bring them on board again for this one. I’ve talked about Ollie once before and I honestly think it’s the best deal going right now in terms of home whitening strips because they work, they don’t sting my gums and they’re super affordable.
You can do a month-to-month plan where they send you a month’s supply every single month that you can cancel any time, or the best deal that I recommend is the annual plan. They’ll send you the entire years’ worth of whitening strips which gets you the Transformation Kit that you use every day for a month, then after that, you use the Maintenance Strips once a week to maintain your smile. And if you use the temporary discount code they gave us 40fashion, it works out to like less than $7 a month. So if you missed it last time, go check out our special link and use the discount code 40fashion so you can go score a great deal for yourself.
Let me run down the overall benefits of why wearing a smile is so important, then I want to tell you guys a story that happened to me just the other night. Okay, smiling can actually relieve stress because smiling releases endorphins. Endorphins are responsible for triggering that positive feeling in your body and if you’re depressed, these same endorphins interact with receptors in your brain to reduce help depression.
Smiling is the universal sign of happiness. So no matter where you’re at, people know what a smile means. Also, when you smile, you’re viewed as more confident, attractive, social, friendly, trustworthy and more approachable. If you’re single, you can also attract positive attention to yourself. A genuine smile when you first meet someone allows you to make a great first impression.
So, if you’ve been hanging out with me for a while, most of you guys probably know by now that I recently relocated from Southern California up to Seattle. Because I don’t really have a professional network up here, I’ve been trying to figure out who some other bigger style bloggers are to align with. I’ve gone to a few mixers and events recently, but this last one was interesting and that’s where the importance of wearing a smile comes in. When you don’t smile, people tend to think you’re grumpy or in a bad mood, even if you’re not. So here’s my story.
So, I’m at this event and it’s going pretty well. I don’t really know anyone, but I was in a circle of about 4 other people and I was standing next to a woman and we were all involved in a conversation. But mostly it was her and I talking. This guy approaches the circle and we open up to accept him, but her and I are still engaged in conversation at this point. The new guy isn’t smiling at all. Now, I’m still interacting with her and we’re going back and forth, but I keep looking at the new guy thinking to myself, is he the boyfriend? Is he getting annoyed that I’m talking to her? Like, I have no idea, but the look on his face had my mind wondering if I was doing something wrong.
As it turns out, he was a decent guy, but the initial impression he gave me is cemented in my brain. I mean, he’s responsible for his own first impression, and so are you guys. That’s why I’m on here talking about the things I talk about. I want you guys to make the best first impression you possible can. So if your teeth could use a little help in the whitening department, hit this link and jump on this deal.
