I’ve been wearing Legend Spirit for the last several years and as I’ve mentioned before in other videos and articles, it’s my go-to fragrance. I can’t say enough good things about it. When I’m not sure about what fragrance to wear that day, this is it. Also, if I have a purpose that day, I’ll wear it. I’ll get into the Legend Night in a minute, but first let’s talk about Legend Spirit.
Montblanc Legend Spirit
This is a fresh, citrusy, woodsy, aromatic scent. It has notes of fresh citrus, spice, wood, pink pepper, oakmoss, cashmere, cardamom, white musk and lavender. It’s sweet, but not overly fruity. The woodsy notes and white musk balance this out nicely because you can take in the sweetness, but also the slightly heavier woodsy undertones. This is perfect for spring and summer, but honestly, I wear it year ‘round. I’d label it mostly as a daytime fragrance, but it can easily take you into the evening with no problem because of the long-lasting spicy pepper base notes.
Fresh, clean, sweet and masculine
It’s masculine, but also fresh and clean with a slight sweetness and kind of a muted spice. This is a very mass appealing, elegant and classy fragrance that suits the 40-something guy very well. The projection is relatively high in the beginning, meaning it is a little stronger and will project out a bit in the first hour or so, so just be prepared for that. The longevity is also very good at about 7-8 hours. This is a very versatile fragrance, and that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s also not gonna break the bank.
If you’re not sure what to wear, this is absolutely a fantastic go-to scent. It’s a happy, good-feeling fragrance which is why I think it’s a better day time fragrance, but like I mentioned, it also works in the evening because of the wood and spice undertones. I feel like the more it dries down, the more woodsy and peppery it gets and that’s why (in my opinion) it’s so versatile and can carry you seamlessly from day to evening.
Most complimented
This is probably the most complimented fragrance I own. It might be because I wear it the most, but I will get random, unsolicited compliments from people in grocery stores, bars and shopping malls on this one. People will definitely smell this, especially in the first 1-2 hours because that’s when the projection is the strongest.
It’s a safe, crowd pleaser that just flat out works in just about any setting. However, I might say it’s a bit strong for the gym especially if you just sprayed it. I’m not one that likes to walk around in a cloud of fragrance all day, but I do like to smell nice in close and with the occasional whiff as you walk-by.
Montblanc Legend Night
Okay, Moving on to Legend NIGHT. This is a sexy, soft, and mature scent. It has notes of apple, lavender, cardamom, amber, wood, spice but also sweet and fruity vanilla. It also has a very slight leathery musk note on the dry-down. This is a great fragrance for a night out virtually any time of year. It’s Elegant, classy and it won’t overpower or over project. It sits a lot closer to the skin and invites people in, especially your date or your significant other.
Elegant and classy
This is not the standard bitter, dry, smokey fragrance that gets mainly associated when you think of the older crowd. It has a slight, sweet vanilla scent that’s also attractive for younger guys. However, It’s not a crazy sweet projection monster that the 23 year-olds wear to nightclubs. If it WAS a projection beast, it wouldn’t be as nice in my opinion. This catches your nose just right. It’s beautiful, sexy, seductive and classy. I feel like too many people that write reviews have unrealistic longevity expectations. This one lasts an average 4-6 hours. If you need it to last longer, bring a little atomizer with you.
Perfect for evenings out
I’ve read a few reviews that say it doesn’t project well enough. But honestly, for me, with the type of socializing I do on a regular basis, I don’t want my fragrance to project out 15 feet in all directions. Imagine sitting at a nice dinner with another couple or a few friends and all you can smell is the guy across the table who’s wearing the powerful nightclub fragrance. That may be okay when you’re 22, but not when you’re 42 or 52. I’ve got a Tom Ford fragrance that’ll fog up a room like that, but for the most part these days, for me, I don’t want to be remembered as the guy that ruined game night because my cologne was over-powering.
Legend Night, in my opinion, sits right where you want it to. It creates mystery and interest because you catch whiffs of it in social settings. But when you’re in closer, it’s a terrific warm, seductive, mature, and masculine scent that’s great for date night or Netflix and chill with that someone special.
