Today I want to talk about a few different style tips and clothing items that can increase your handsome and your confidence. Alright, by show of hands, who doesn’t want to look more handsome?…. Okay, who DOES want to look more handsome?…… exactly. We all want to look more handsome. It’s human nature to want to look better, be more muscular, trim down the waistline and just overall look our best and make the most of what we’ve been given. So today I want to chat about a few things you can implement to boost your handsome.
Wear dark solid colors.
First up, and you’ve probably heard me say this a time or two before if you’re a subscriber to my YouTube channel or you’ve read some of my other articles, and that’s wear dark solid colors. Now, I’m not necessarily suggesting going Goth and wearing all black all the time, but incorporate darker colors and tones into your outfit. Wearing darker colors, provided your clothes fit you well, has the ability to make you look more expensive, more mysterious and more confident. Dark tones absorb light which helps make you appear thinner. On the flipside, light colors and tones are bulking because they reflect light which makes you visually look larger.
Add contrast for balance.
This actually brings us to number two, which is add contrast to your clothing to balance out your body shape. For example, if you’re a larger guy up top but you have smaller legs, wearing lighter, bulking colors on your lower half and darker, slimming colors up top can help balance you out. Because the lighter tones on your lower half will visually add size and the barker tones on your upper half will be slimming, you’ll look more balanced. What you should avoid of you have this body shape is dark pants with a light color top, because all everyone will see is your top half. Draw the light and attention downward to create some balance.
Wear slim-fit shirts.
Next, is wear slim fit shirts. Now, whenever I say slim fit anything, some guys freak out a little because they think “Skinny”. This is not what I mean. All “slim fit” or “Trim fit” means is cutting away some of the excess fabric to help your shirt fit you better and make you look more trim, handsome and put together. One of the things that can happen on guys with average builds or guys with ‘Dad-Bods’ who wear slim fit shirts is the pec-gap. If you’re in the gym a lot and you have an athletic build with a broad chest, or even if you’re slim like I am but still carrying a little body fat in your chest, this pec-gap or pulling at the buttons can be super annoying.
That’s why I partnered up with Teddy Stratford for this post because I wanted to show you guys a shirt that actually solves this problem. Here’s the secret… it uses a hidden zipper to completely eliminate the pec-gap. Instead of using an average male form to design shirts, they use a fit male form with a broader chest. By starting with an athletic shape rather than an average shape, the shirt fits athletic builds better off the rack. But it also makes slim or average guys look more athletic. Now, because the shirt tapers to a slim waist, it’s probably not the best choice for my friends with a larger belly.
This design with the zipper originally comes from police uniforms which gives officers a tactical advantage in a scuffle and prevents someone from slipping a hand in between the buttons and get a grip. The shirts are handmade in small batches using single needle stitching, high quality 100% long stable Egyptian cotton fabric and they incorporate YKK zippers. The collar stays are also pretty revolutionary. To prevent the collar from spreading open like a disco collar, they created an interlocking system using a standard removable collar stay. You just tuck the bottom end into a hidden button hole, and your collar stays up. If you want to wear a tie, just untuck the collar stay and use it as you would a normal collar.
Teddy Stratford was nice enough to give this audience a special discount code, so I’ll leave our special link along with the discount code down below in the description. One more thing I wanted to let you know guys, they have a $50 wager, not a money back guarantee because they already have that, but this is a $50 wager that this is the best fitting shirt on the planet. I’ll leave that link right here so you can go check that out.
Personal grooming.
The next style tip to help you look more handsome has to do with your personal grooming. Yes, now I know this isn’t an item of clothing, but bear with me for a minute. I meet and talk to new people all the time. I’m pretty socially active and I really don’t have too much trouble starting conversations with people and I notice things all the time. Guys will have crazy long nose hairs or a few random long scraggly eyebrow hairs that draw a lot of attention. Gentlemen, you look at yourself in the mirror every single day. It would benefit you to start paying a little more attention to some of the less glamorous areas of personal grooming and stay on top of it on a regular basis.
Take care of your skin.
The next tip, and we’re staying on personal grooming again, is to take care of your skin. Have some sort of skin care routine. Do something. There’s a ton of different products out there that are geared specifically for men and a lot of them are ridiculously affordable. So price shouldn’t be a roadblock for you. I’ve made other videos on this topic and a lot of you guys already know what I use. But the skin on your face is all you have and if you want to improve your handsome, you should definitely be doing something.
Wear a sports jacket.
Next is to wear a sport jacket. There’s several reasons for this. First of all, if you’re a bigger guy and you carry weight around the middle, a sports jacket with structure in the shoulders will help add a little width and lift to your shoulders. This will help give the illusion that you’re more broad in the shoulders which in turn, de-emphasizes your midsection. On the flip-side, if you’re a skinny guy and you want to look more athletic or muscular, a sports jacket with some structure in the shoulders can do the same thing. It will add some structure and size to your shoulders giving you that V-taper making you appear more broad, and more handsome.
Improve your smile.
The next way you can improve your handsome is to focus on your smile. I’ve talked about this before in other videos and I’ve also talked about how I had braces in my mid-40’s because I wanted a better smile. I also have a few veneers because I was involved in a bike accident. Which is partially why I have a funny lisp sometimes. I did the 6-month smile braces, and because I was already in my 40’s, I didn’t want or need bite correction. I just wanted my smile to look better and my visible teeth to be straighter. If you’d like me to talk about that more in another video, please let me know down in the comments. The point is, you have options when it comes to fixing your smile.
Alright gentlemen, if you haven’t already subscribed to my YouTube channel, it would mean a lot to me if you would. Also, be sure to go check out Teddy Stratford at this special link and be sure to use that discount code also. Guys, I’ll see you in just a few days for a brand new article and video, but until then, live well, and I’ll see you soon.

Handsome is the term described for men of all ages. But some men above 30 or 40 tend to ignore their smart looks, often gifted, though can be polished. Thanks for these tips and these are really commendable.
