What’s going on guys. Today I want to talk about what might be the number one confidence killer that men face, and that hair loss. Hair loss is something that we’ll all eventually face as men at one point or another in our lives, but the good news is there are a lot of surgical and nonsurgical options out there to either slow or stop your current rate of hair loss, replace your hair with fake hair or do hair transplantation. And there’s a few options that go along with transplantation as well. Stick with me and will chat about it.
So first up. Let’s address the elephant in the room. Yes, I have all my real hair and I’ve never had any type of hair loss treatment whatsoever. Apparently good French and Italian DNA from my parents is a major contributor to that. With that said, a lot of you might be asking yourselves why you’re listening to a guy with a full head of hair talk about hair loss options and that’s completely understandable. Let me just say that the whole premise around my web site and YouTube channel, and I’ve said this numerous times in the past, is that all I’m trying to do is help as many men to look better, feel better, and have more confidence in themselves. I am absolutely not saying that you need a full head of hair to look amazing and be confident. But I do know a lot of guys struggle with confidence once they start seeing significant hair loss, so this is simply a resource if you’re interested in getting your hair back.
For the record, I’m not a doctor but I have done my own research on this subject because it’s only a matter of time until hair loss affects me and I’m going to need some type of treatment for myself. And like I said, the good news is, there are options out there. You just need to be smart and do your own research and not get locked into one particular method because you know someone that had it done, or you watched a YouTube success story video about a specific treatment. So let’s chat briefly about some of the options.
Number one, you can wear a toupee. Now, I’ve seen some crazy hair transformations using these newly designed toupees that are glued onto your scalp, and they look absolutely incredible. Even up close it’s really difficult to tell where your skin stops and the membrane of the toupee starts. This is essentially a really thin membrane which is transparent that has hair injected into it that gets glued to the top of your head. Like I said, do your own research but some of the photos and videos that I’ve seen, the results look absolutely amazing. The downside is that you have something glued to your head and it’s not a permanent solution.
Next, if you have a smaller bald spot area, I’ve seen a product that’s made up of these really fine cotton fibers that you can sprinkle onto the bald spot that have a magnetic charge that holds onto the fine hair that you already have. It’s not ink or colored powder, it’s actually really small cotton fibers and the finished look is incredible. But once again, this is not a permanent solution.
Next we have more less invasive options like Rogaine and Propecia. We’re probably all familiar with Rogaine which is a topical solution that you work into your scalp. This has been shown on some men to stop hair loss and even re-grow hair. This is something that takes a little time to see any results, and if you stop using it you stop seeing the benefits. The same thing goes for Propecia which is a medication that you take. It’s only approved for men, and women and children should not touch it whatsoever. Propecia is a drug that prevents testosterone from converting into DHT. DHT levels are what contribute to hair loss. Once again, this is something that has been shown to help some men, and it does take a few months to see results. It’s also something that needs to be continued for the rest of your life if you want to continue seeing results.
Next up we have hair transplants. And with transplants we have essentially two options. The first is follicular unit transplantation or FUT, and follicular unit extraction or FUE. There are upsides and downsides to both, and it’s critical that you do your own research and also go in and see a professional for a consultation to make sure you are a good candidate for one or the other, and if it’s even an option for you. That’s where today’s sponsor Bosley comes in.
When I was doing research for this video, I read a lot of articles and watched a lot of first-hand account videos. The one thing that really stood out for me was, if you’re considering a hair transplant, it’s critical that you talk to a doctor that specializes in both methods of hair transplantation. It’s also crucial for your overall success and your satisfaction when it’s all over that you’re the correct candidate for the treatment option you’re looking for. Because if you’re locked in on one particular method of hair transplantation, but you’re not a good candidate for it, the chances are you may not be happy with the results if you move forward with it anyway.
