I’m not sure why it happens, but the reality is, it does happen. However, the good news is, you can do something about it. What the heck am I talking about? I’m talking about hair that starts growing in places you’ve never had hair before, as well as hair that starts growing faster in other places. For example; your ears, nose and eyebrows.
What the heck kind of sick joke is this? I’ve never had to worry about ear hair before. Not too long ago I saw a reflection of myself in a mirror outdoors with the sun shining behind me, and I saw a long stray hair coming from the back of my left ear! WTF?! The back of my ear?! That’s a new one for me and I pay attention to stuff like that. I just turned 48 this April and I’ve been fully aware of the stray hairs that pop up in weird places for a while now, but this one really blew me away.
Another thing happened very recently that also prompted this article. I was having lunch with a new acquaintance last week at a really cool outdoor restaurant, and I noticed this single, long, rogue hair coming from the very tip of his nose. It was only visible when the light hit him just right, but it was there. What the hell? He had no idea, and why should he? He’s probably never had to check it before and he probably can’t even see it in the mirror straight on. I didn’t say anything because we’re not that “chummy” yet, but I wanted to.
The point is, it happens and if we don’t pay attention to our grooming, little stuff like this can wreck an otherwise solid first impression. If you have a wife or significant other, ask them to be your advocate. Have them take a close look at you to spot any places that you might’ve missed, or to catch anything you can’t quite see. If you’re by yourself, get close with your mirror. Give your nose, brows and ears a full once-over and see if there’s any rogue hairs popping out.
You can’t stop age or Mother Nature, but if you remain aware of a few things, you can always look your best. Here’s a few tools I have in my arsenal that I use on a regular basis;

This thing is great and I use it a few times a week. I don’t use it with the beard trimmer attachments though. I only use the nose hair attachment and the detail trimmer attachment. I use the next tool for my beard and body hair.
This is my workhorse. Actually, I use the Norelco QT4070, but it looks like this model is its replacement. I’m about due for a new one, so I’ll most likely be buying this one next. Since I maintain a short beard, I can adjust the guard to varying lengths. I’ll even use it from time to time on my brows. This is also a great body-hair grooming tool that I use a few times a week.
Tweezers are a must for your brows. Tweeze the stray hairs between your brows and any other rogue hairs in your brow area. I’m not suggesting making them perfect or shaping your brows, just keep them in check.
If you’re not into tweezers, go this route with a mini razor blade. You can use it dry to trim between your brows and on the sides.

This design is steller! You most certainly know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
