Gentlemen, Happy New Year! As I mentioned in my most recent newsletter, I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and I wish you the best going forward in 2018. If you’re not signed up for my newsletter, hit this Style Guide link on the home page and sign up!
I want to let you guys know about my new obsession, and one I think you’re really going to like. I’ve been seeing Anson Belts being advertised quite a bit on line and all over YouTube. The hole-less belt with micro-adjustments seemed like a really sweet idea and I’ve wanted to try them out for some time. Well, Merry Christmas to me, Santa brought me a set. I posted a teaser picture on Instagram (be sure to follow me there) and I couldn’t wait to test out the belts for a bit and write this article.
Okay, we’re all familiar with traditional belts and the 5 holes spaced out by about an inch or so. I don’t know about you, but the holes never seem to be where I want them to be. Maybe I ate a big dinner or drank a few IPA’s and all of the sudden, I’m feeling a bit bloated. With a traditional belt, if I move the buckle to the next hole, it’s always too much. Or maybe the one hole you normally use is fine with jeans, but with slacks or chino’s it’s too loose, but going to the next hole is too tight.
This is where Anson Belts come in. They use a ratchet system that allows for micro-adjustments, so no matter what; it’s always a perfect fit. It’s such a simple concept and it works great!
Here’s the deal; all of the belt straps come in one 50” length and you cut them to fit your size. Its super simple and you can use any pair of sharp household scissors, just make sure you cut the correct end and don’t cut it too short. Watch this video from their site to see how it’s done.
The other really cool thing is that since the buckles are removable, you can interchange them and mix & match with dozens of different colors and styles. I got the gift box with three straps and two buckles. If you’re tired (like I am) of worn out belt holes that never fit the way you want, I highly encourage you to check out Anson Belts.
PS. I’m not affiliated with them whatsoever. I just wanted to share this really cool thing with you guys.
Cheers!
